How To Get Here And Transportation SetupWhat Airport Do I Fly Into?
Dominican Tree House Resort Directions: We recommend flying into either Santo Domingo Las Americas (SDQ) or Samana El Catey (AZS). Samana (AZS) is the closest, but is not currently supporting flights to or from the USA. Santo Domingo (SDQ) is much larger and offers a greater variety flights from a number of carriers, but requires further travel upon arrival in the country.
If neither of the above airports works for you or your dates, it might be worth considering a flight into Punta Cana International. Taxi service from Punta Cana to the treehouse can be arranged for you and costs $270 one-way and takes 4 hours.
Santo Domingo Las Americas (SDQ)
Santo Domingo (SDQ) is a much larger airport than Samana El Catey (AZS) and offers a greater variety of flights from a number of carriers, but requires further travel upon arrival in the country. One-way Taxi service to the treehouse can be arranged for you and costs $125 dollars for up to 6 passengers. It is a 2.5-hour taxi ride from Santo Domingo. We recommend looking at flights through both airports to see what is best for you based on where you are traveling from.
Taxi service must be requested a minimum of 3 days in advance.
Samana El Catey (AZS)
If traveling internationally, flying into Samana International Airport (AZS) is the closest and easiest way to get to the treehouse. Samana (AZS) is the closest but is not currently supporting flights to or from the USA. Flights direct to Samana are often limited and more expensive than flying into Santo Domingo (SDQ). Taxi service to the treehouse can be arranged for you and costs $85 USD for up to 6 passengers. It is a 1-hour taxi ride from the Samana Airport.
Taxi service must be requested a minimum of 3 days in advance.

Can I Rent A Car?
Driving in a foreign country can often times be a stressful and overwhelming experience for those not accustomed to the somewhat chaotic conditions that can be found here. We usually recommend going with a Taxi service unless guests are feeling adventurous and have some competency in Spanish.
For those wanting to have a little more control and flexibility over their travel and are comfortable driving and navigating in a foreign country, renting a car can be a good option. We recommend using either AmeriRent or AVIS which have prices starting from $49.00/day which includes insurance. We would caution renting from any companies outside of these two – be careful of scams and shady deals, especially when insurance is not included in the quoted price.
Parking:
Parking is free, safe, and does not require a reservation in advance. We still recommend that you leave nothing in your vehicle and keep it locked at all times.

Can I Take A City Bus?
Taking the bus is a cheaper and more adventurous alternative for those willing to make the journey, but requires an intermediate understanding of Spanish. For those flying into Santo Domingo, this would mean taking a taxi from Santo Domingo International (SDQ) to the Caribe tours bus station, purchasing a bus ticket to Samana and taking the 3-hour bus ride, then catching a taxi from the Caribe tours bus station in Samana to the Treehouse Village.
Arriving via bus requires taking a taxi from the Santo Domingo Airport to the Caribe Tours bus station roughly 5 minutes away ($6-11 USD), getting on a bus to take you to Samana roughly 2.5 hours away (~ $7 USD per person), and then catching a taxi from Samana to take you to the treehouse roughly 25 minutes away ($25-30 USD). For many of our guests, this is more of a hassle than it is worth, but it is possible to save a little money in travel expenses for those willing to go the distance.
