Dreams are made of these! Who would have ever thought that you could sleep in a tree house in the middle of a tropical jungle? Dominican Tree House Resort has crafted a venue like no other you’ve seen before. Our accommodations are elevated above the ground in tree houses. Rope bridges and meandering paths connect the tree house cabins to secluded lagoons and pools. Our open-air design allows you to immerse yourself in the surroundings with the gentle breeze caressing your skin and the sound of rustling leaves whispering in your ear. It’s magical and it’s waiting for you.
In an untouched paradise
The Dominican Tree House Resort is located in the heart of the Samaná Peninsula. Samaná is often referred to as the “best kept secret” of the island. It is considered one of the most beautiful and safests places of the Dominican Republic. The landscape is lush and mountainous and the region has some of the world’s most spectacular beaches. The area has relatively little tourism and remains, for the most part, pristine and undisturbed.
Unlike other all-inclusive resorts, the beaches near the Dominican Tree House Resort are refreshingly free of crowds. El Valle beach is just a bike’s ride away and it is tranquil, secluded, and breathtakingly beautiful. Most days, you might see a handful of Tree House guests and a few local fisherman. It is truly a place to escape from the noise, the crowds, and the stress of city life.
Where the activities are incredible
Dominican Tree House Resort specializes in giving you a wide variety of activities to choose from. We will cater your day to match your desires. For those who are looking for a relaxing getaway, we invite you to visit the nearby town and experience the local culture. You can go whale watching or go on a guided tour.
For those who want a more active vacation, you can go horseback riding to uncover an exhilarating waterfall at El Limon. Not fast enough for you? How about an ATV off-road adventure alongside beautiful marble cliffs? Or zip lining across the longest and highest-rated zip line in the Caribbean? Choose your activity from hiking , canyoneering, cave exploring, cliff jumping, spear fishing, paddle-boarding, snorkeling, and more! No matter what your interest, we’ve got something for you. See our activities page for more info.
The staff is your family
In general, Dominicans are fun-loving people who are laid back and welcoming. As you explore the island, you will be greeted by friendly people who are willing to help and share their stories. At the Treehouse Resort, our staff is composed of some of the best and friendliest people in the Dominican Republic. Unlike typical resorts where the staff exists to serve you, the staff here truly want to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Whether it is playing a game or sharing a story, the people are here for you. It’s about connecting because they want to get to know you as much as you will want to get to know them. The Tree House team is committed to making your vacation the best one ever. The result is a cultural experience that is authentic and enriching. You’ll create awesome memories and forever be a member of the Tree House family.
And you can support the local community and the environment
There are many service projects which you may help with: spend an hour at the local school and help teach kids English; get your hands dirty and help with a farming project, help paint and construct homes; deliver clothes, shoes, and toys to the community; and other equally valuable endeavors. Ask our concierge about how you can be a part of the solution.
Other areas of the Dominican Republic are impacted by the development of concrete high-rises, and the local communities are dislocated or assimilated. That’s the last thing we want here in the beautiful valley. Let’s get together and make a difference!
Since its inception in 2014, Dominican Tree House Resort has been committed to using local resources, materials, and labor. Depending on the season, we employ about 30 villagers and provide jobs indirectly to 100+ people. Our efforts promote sustainable development and ecotourism which ultimately increases the standards of living. Your participation at the Tree House Resort encourages the preservation of the natural environment and local culture. But there’s more…
